The issue I'm having is I want to run a sticker tire for the 1/4 only, I'll run them on the AutoX section if I get dinged on points, but they have no tread wear rating on them, but they are DOT approved (Hoosier QTPs if it makes a difference).... so is that a +10 or +15?

no treadwear is rated on the tire, I believe it is a 00 rating, plus considering those are the softest hoosier drag radials, i'd say its most likely a 15 point hike, but wait for the rule committee to decide I suppose

ya i just re-read the rules, and got an email from Hosier, they said they'd most likely carry a 60 or less :P

what to do, what to do ... :P

The only class that is allowed to switch tires is Top Gun.... You can run the +15 tires in your normal class if you take the points assigned, but you won't be able to switch them between events. So you'll have to run them for both autocross and drag... :twocents:

I ran street tires last year when I usally run slicks, it wasnt too bad the track their had a decent amount of prep I was able to pull off a few 2.1 60's when my best on slicks is a 1.9. So my e.t's were about .5 second slower

Yeah track sucked LOL. on ET streets i pull consistant 1.6 60fts. i had to spray at the 60-100 ft mark and as soon as i did, the tires went up in smoke. track was teh suck.

However, no more problems this year. Going to be on a sticky tire regardless lol.

The Nitto 555R II is basically the 555r DR with a stiffer sidewall so I think either the 555r or the 555r II will be fine for you... the R888, Victoracers, A048R, etc. are all good sticky tires that can turn too. If you just want a set of stickier street tires the Dunlop Z1 Star spec is a great tire (what I run daily) as are the RE01R's, Falken RT615, etc.

These tires are sticky enough and stiff enough for both courses. ;)
