Thats pretty much it. I have been looking for video or something and dont see any from last year. Also the rules dont break down what the event (slalom) is about or how its scored. (yes i actually read the rules.

Also where the heck do you register for this.

What does it take to be choosen for this event i just went throught the registration process. I guess i mean who's in charge of picking the "right" combination of vehicles / drivers..

So i guess i can forget about the slalom...

Theres a committee that takes care of the selection process. Many of them are on the forums here and will accept starbucks gift cards in exchange for a better chance of being chosen.

IIRC the "slalom" was just going to be a separately timed portion of the auto-x course rather than its own event.

I can get a "bunch" of those said cards if need be..

When are you told that you have been selected , curious because of hotel availablity.

According to the registration page at motorsportreg.com the last day to register is April 21st. That seems awfully close to the competition date and I think I heard something about a preliminary selection being made soon, then keeping registration open for a bit longer. In reality though, I'm just a forum whore and not involved in the decision making process so I really have no idea what I'm talking about.

Seeing as i am on a roll with questions:

Is there an updated list somewhere showing entrants ( participants ).

And i would assume the drag race is ran weather permitting.

Teams have not been yet selected. And yes drag is weather permitting due to safety issues.

If you go back to the motorsportreg.com website you can click on "dashboard", then "see who else is attending" for a list of names of people who have registered so far and where they're from. This list wont tell you whether they're import or domestic, what they drive, or what their screen name is though.

Ok, my turn for a question, isnt the whole event "weather permitting"? I know auto-x can be run in the rain, but I thought there was going to be a "rain date" for the whole event in case of incliment weather.

Yeah i didnt ask about the whole event because i didnt see it listed anywhere. Just figured it would have been in the flyer.

I hate rain. I have an event going on either side of this ( one the week before and one the week after ) so if a rain date happens it would be after and i know that this particular site is probably packed full of events all season long.

I haven't heard anything about us cancelling the slalom. :drivingskid:

The slalom will be integrated into the autox course, and timed with separate timing equipment. ;)

And yes, in the event of inclement weather, there will be a rain date. (and maybe a cruise to the local bowling alley or something? ) Unfortunately, the fields will be smaller as there will be a few people from out of state, or that have prior engagements that will prevent them from coming.

I think that answers everything.

Newbie.......BAN! LOL. Leave what event is "in" and what is "out" to us Geoff, or a beating will ensue. :shout::rofl:

In the middle somewhere on the autox course, we will have it set up where there are seperate timers to time each car that drives thru the "slalom" portion of the autox course. Your car should be real slow at the start of the "Timed slalom section", and take off thru the slalom (Length to be determined by MVSCC), at the end of the slalom portion, you will hit an area of slowing, and then you will continue to finish the rest of the autox course. Hope this helps. (Low time is a keeper for you and your team)

So there are awards for the slalom since it is like a fourth event. I know its been posted but can't remember.

Ok drifting was a joke didn't think people would get mad about it I just want to drive as much as I can even if it rains and instead of sitting around all day it would give me something to do. Just forget I brought it up. Didn't want to make it part of the event either.

I cant "drift" for two reasons:

1. I have an open diff so I end up just smoking the inside tire.

2. I have an IQ that is greater than single digits.

Well yeah, that too. Actually this gives me a good segway into...does anyone around here have the tools, the time, and the know-how to help me install some parts on my car? I've got springs, shocks, and swaybars sitting in my garage just waiting to be installed but I dont have the tools or the know-how to do it myself. I'm more than happy to compensate you with food and/or beverage of your choice.

Let me know when you want to do it, I can get you a "pit crew" to do the job for you.

Actually nope, never got around to doing it. Basically, I dont have the balls to tear apart my only source of transportation to do it myself, and dont have the money to have someone like Dave a PD to do it for me. So yeah, the parts are still sitting in my closet collecting dust and waiting for me to either bite the bullet and install them, or sell them on ebay.

We could help you do it if you want to, but DO NOT let me work on moving parts on your car, as they probably wont ever move again. LOL. So you can only trust my skills to tighten your gas cap, or check the oil. The rest of the people on here are probably more mechanically inclined.

Their mistake caused 2 cars to spin rod bearings. They gave me 3 quarts to little, and a car next to mine, gave that one 3 quarts too much! LOL. Someone forgot to count. ruined my motor, and theirs. (they didn't pay to fix mine either, said it was from blow-by) 3 quarts in less then a week? LOL
