I have been told it will be a "Drive thru" judging type this year. sndsgood is the go to guy for ANY and ALL carshow info, as he is in charge of it this year.:rockon: He will be putting up the itinerary real soon.

We finally got the carshow fixed for you guys/gals.

I sort’a rather the drive thru judging at shows...
Best way to know you where judged, as well as gives you the chance to talk to the judge about what you have done to your ride, since most can't pick out the suddle yet major custom work on my Monte unless they know that year well.

I'm interested to hear more about "Drive through" type judging. I don't know much about car show judging and I'd love to know more!

Alize hit the nail on the head. i prefer drive thru judging myself. and i swear its not because im a lazy judge. here are my reasonings for doing drive thru judging.

1. i run a 3 judge system. all 3 judges will judge every car there. this gives you a 3 person average and I feel makes things a little more fair and lessens the chance of one judge being biased. its easier to keep all 3 judges in one spot.

2. last year car show people were mixed in with parking people and the judges i heard missed judging cars, with a drive thru setup. the decision is on you wether you want to be judged or not.

3. at any car show you have peole there to judge and win and others that enter but have no plan on winning or even bother with judging, this allows the judges to only spend time on the people that want to be judged. if you drive thru the judging lanes you will be judged, if you dont want to be judged then you dont have to.

4. it never fails people run out to lunch or the store, or just want to cruise and cars get missed. this way it keeps judges from having to walk the aisles all day long trying to find someone they missed.

5. when i show i like to clean my car. and I usually spend all day long cleaning it. the last thing i want is for a judges to come up when im only half way done and i have to ask him to come back later. I like the option of cleaning my car for as long as i want, and then being judged when i want.

6. having drive thru judging allows the owner of the car to be there when its judged, the owner can tell us anything speaical done we may not know about the car. it gives the owner a chance to explain why there car is speacial.

AWARDS

This year we will be doing a top 40 format.

until i can get a clear image of what cars are showing up the amount of cars we have it doesn't make sence at this point to do individual classes. if the show grows we may switch over to that format. but the last thing I want is 80 cars showing up with 80 classes and everyone wins first place. so for now were doing a top 25. this gives everyone a chance to compete against everyone else and may the best 25 cars win.

we are also doing

Best Paint
Best Interior
Best engine
Best audio
Best engineered
Reilley kids pic, were going to try and have several kids on hand to award cars that they personally like.
and finally

Best of show.

I had thoughts of doing Best girl car, but I feel that most girl cars ive seen competing can go head to head with the guys cars and they deserved to be treated equally and not seperate.

I also had thought about a Best Bike, but I had heard they didnt have any bikes enter last year.

This will be my first year helping out Winged Warriors for the car show and hopefuly we can get allot of the bugs of last year ironed out.

If anyone has any suggestions feel free to offer them up in here or pm me. now that its getting closer i'll make sure to check the site often to answer any concerns.

Will this format be used for the racers car show as well, or just the show only vehicles?

No on the Racers carshow part. Your cars will be parked in the "Racers carshow corral" like every year, and will be judged there. The same Judges who judge the GENERAL CARSHOW will judge the race cars with a point/score sheet, for points towards your overall score.

Roger, I was trying to figure out how the drive by judging would work... I was thinking: Do I get judged in the rallyX car?

Racing in the rallyx cars is for points and trophies, not for looks. lol

we'll stand at the end of the drag track and get ya as you go by at 120mph. or well 70mph if your one of the slower cars ;)

That works for me, my car looks a lot better while it's moving, especially quickly :P haha.

My only concern was with being able to make it to the rally-x, sounds like it's a non-issue though. This format sounds good to me, if I was entered in the car show I would prefer this over just having the car parked all day.
