At what point will a parachute be required? If a Veyron can run a quarter mile in 10 seconds bone stock and can stop from it's terminal velocity of 253mph in something like 17, theoretically, it could be at top speed at the top of the quarter and still make the last turn off....couldn't it?

I just wanted to be the first post in the drag section.

A Veyron would never hit 253 in a 1/4 mile.

A lot of the full out race cars actually have parachutes. Nobody uses them unless they absolutely have to. Packing a parachute is a PITA. ;)

I know it will trap 140 or so, but I was attempting a theory as to whether it could stop from top speed before hitting the overrun fence.

At 235 I wouldn't want to try to stop befor the sand traps without some laundry hanging out.
The official speed you are supposed to use a chute is 150mph
